CHRISTY: A CHANGE OF SEASONS
Christy: A Change of Seasons features Emily as a young student named Zady Spencer who is pulled from school when her parents object to Christy's wildly progressive teachings (like women gettin' the vote!). The studious Zady must subsequently get her academic fix by covertly meeting up with her teacher in the woods. It's not as creepy as it sounds: Miss Christy is pretty wholesome, and has no criminal record of which we are aware.
Poor Zady gets another heap of drama dumped upon her when a typhoid epidemic sweeps through town and threatens her family.
Set in 1912, the Christy movies star Lauren Lee Smith as the title character, who recounts her life in a small town in rural Tennessee. The series was actually shot in Vancouver, and offers some wonderful views of their renowned scenery. Based on the novel by Catherine Marshall.
